New Keyword

Pimics uses keywords to easily describe an item with a concise expression. This significantly facilitates the search for a product item. The user simply assigns keywords directly to a product item. In addition, Pimics has integrated keyword duplication control.

Item card should exist for alternative steps (see more New Item)

To create a new Keyword

  1. On the General FastTab, fill in the fields as necessary:
    1. Choose the Search icon, enter Keywords (Classification/Keywords), and then choose the related link.
    2. Click New to create a new Keyword.
    3. Press enter to generate a new Keyword ID from the default Number Series, or type in unique ID manually.
    4. In the Description field, enter the name of the new kyeword.
    5. System status shows the state of completeness based on the data quality check. See more system status.
    6. The Group System Number field indicates whether the unit is internal or uploaded from the standard.
  2. On the Translations FastTab, set the translations for the Keyword and select the Language Code into which the keyword will be translated.
  3. TheLog FastTab contains information about the Keyword card.

Alternative steps

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter Items (Product Information/Items), and then choose the related link.
  2. Choose Item Card and open it.
  3. Click on PIM Ribbon Tab and then choose Keyword.
  4. Search for the Keyword by typing in the Keyword and pressing Enter:
    • If the Keyword was found in Keyword list, you can choose the existing keyword
    • If the Keyword was not found, then the system creates a new Internal keyword

Add a Keyword to an Entity (Item/ Item group/ Product group/Chapter/ Class)

Keywords classify the entities. Addition process is very similar for all entities.

  • At least one keyword should exist (see more New Keywords)
  • Usage type code should be set (see more Usage Type) Notes: There are at least two ways how to add a keyword to Item:

To add Keyword to an Entity

  1. Open list of Items (Product Information/Items).
  2. Open the Item Card to which you want to add the Keyword.
  3. Click on PIM Ribbon Tab and then choose Keyword.
  4. Click New to create a new line.
  5. Select the Keyword ID, the available keywords are filtered by the selected group system.
  6. Field Keyword will be filled automatically.
  7. Usage Type Code decides which Keywords are for printing and which for the web.
  8. Source Type and Source Code fields inform about the source of the Keyword.

Alternative steps:

  1. Open list of Items (Product Information/Items).
  2. Open the Item Card to which you want to add the Keyword.
  3. Find the Keywords FactBox (if is not displayed, use Customize - Customize this page and choose FactBox – Keywords).
  4. Go to Keyword FactBox and type in the keyword and press Enter:
    • If the Keyword was found in Keyword list, you can choose the existing keyword
    • If the Keyword was not found, then the system creates a new Internal keyword
