Publication Setup

The Publication Setup page in Pimics for Dynamics 365 Business Central provides global configuration options for managing publications. These settings influence how publications behave during editing, releasing, and exporting.

Accessing the Setup

1. Press ALT+Q and search for Publication Setup.
2. Select the relevant link to open the Publication Setup page.

On the Publication Setup page, you can set up the following parameters:

• Auto Lock Publications
  Automatically locks a publication for the editing user to prevent simultaneous changes.
  Default: Disabled

• Unlock Upon Release
  Unlocks the publication once released, allowing edits by other users.
  Default: Enabled

• Log Publication Locks
  Logs the first record affected during publication reorganization to help diagnose locking issues.
  View logs in Publication Lock List.
  Default: Disabled

• Channel Is Required
  Ensures all entities in a publication have a channel assigned. Entities without a channel are excluded.
  Applies to Items, Groups, Chapters, Catalogs, Digital Assets, and Features.
  Default: Disabled

• Publication Tree Columns
  Customize which fields appear in the Pimics publication tree (e.g., Template Code, Value).
  Use the lookup to select fields; changes apply globally.
  Default: Empty

• Publication Tree Columns Caption
  Displays captions of selected fields in the publication tree.
  Read-only
