Categories history

Overview

Pimics can track and display the history of category cards, allowing users to track changes that have been made at specific points in time.

Prerequisites

Caution
  • Catalog Setup must have in History section: "Keep Category Versions" set either to:
    • When certified
    • On Certification
  • Category must have checklist assigned
  • User must run "Certify" action on the category

What gets stored in history card

Versions that are created and displayd as history card, contains all data that is stored in PIM Category card:

  • Category details
  • Product features
  • Catalog documents
  • Catalog keywords
  • Description texts
  • Catalog translations
  • Channel allocations
  • Allocation lines

All data is displayed the same way, as it is displayed on the regular PIM Category card, but in read-only mode. State of of category is captured at the moment of specific certification, inclooding lines that has failed on certification.

Open history card

There are two ways to open history card:

  1. From History Fact Box on Category card
  2. In "PIM Versions" list, that is located in Related tab on Category card, in section History.

History FactBox

History FactBox contains information about Versions of category, that has been created over time. It displays All versions with their number, date and time of creation, and user that created version. User can select version and open it as PIM Category card in read-only mode, by clicking on "History" and selecting "Show as PIM Card" action. History Fact Box can be exported to Excel by "Open in Excel" action

History List

In "PIM Versions" list, user can see all versions of category that has been created over time. It displays the same information as History FactBox, but in list format. User can select version and open it as PIM Category card in read-only mode, by clicking on "Show as PIM Card" action.

Show Details

In "PIM Versions" list, user can select version and click on "Show Details" action. It will open details of version in pop-up, called "History detailes", where user can see all information about version, including lines that has failed on certification. This action is only for viewing details of version, and does not open PIM Category card.

Show Raw Data

In "PIM Versions" list, user can select version and click on "Show Raw Data" action. It will open pop-up window with raw data of version displayed as String with Fields and their values. This action is for viewing raw data of version, and does not open PIM Category card.

Restore data from history

User can restore data of earlier version of category, by selecting "Restore Data" action in "PIM Versions" list, or in History Detailes pop-up. When user selects this action, PIMICS will create new version in history with restored data. Restored data will be the same as in version that user selected to restore, but with new date and time of creation, and user that performed restore action. After restore action is completed, user can see restored data in regular PIM Category card, and also in history as new version. All other Versions are still available in history, and user can open them or restore data from them if needed. This action allows user to easily revert changes that has been made to category, by restoring data from earlier version.
