Item history
Pimics can track and display the history of item cards, allowing you to review the state of an item at any point in time when it was certified.
Prerequisites
Important
History records are created only when all three of the following conditions are met:
- Catalog Setup → History → Keep Item Versions is set to When certified or On Certification
- The item has a checklist assigned (history is skipped if the checklist is empty)
- You run the Certify action on the item
What gets stored in a history record
Each history record captures a snapshot of everything stored on the PIM Item card at the moment of certification:
- Item details
- Product features
- Catalog documents
- Catalog keywords
- Description texts
- Catalog translations
- Channel allocations
- Allocation lines
All data is displayed in read-only mode, exactly as it appears on the regular PIM Item card. The state of the item is captured at the moment of certification, including any lines that failed certification.
Open a history record
There are two ways to open a history record:
- From the History FactBox on the item card.
- In the PIM Versions list, located on the Related tab of the item card, in the History section.
History FactBox
The History FactBox lists all versions created over time. It shows the version number, date and time of creation, and the user who created it. Select a version and choose Show as PIM Card to open it in read-only mode.
You can export the FactBox list to Excel using the Open in Excel action.
History list (PIM Versions)
In the PIM Versions list, you can see all versions in a list format with the same information as the FactBox. Select a version and choose Show as PIM Card to open it in read-only mode.
Show Details
Select a version and choose Show Details to open the History Details pop-up. It shows all version information, including lines that failed certification. This action is for viewing only and does not open the PIM Item card.
Show Raw Data
Select a version and choose Show Raw Data to open a pop-up with the raw data of the version displayed as field names and values. This action is for viewing only and does not open the PIM Item card.
Restore data from history
To revert an item to an earlier version, select that version in the PIM Versions list or the History Details pop-up and choose Restore Data.
Pimics creates a new version with the restored data, using the current date and time and the user who performed the restore. The restored data is visible immediately on the regular PIM Item card, and also appears as a new version in history. All previous versions remain available.
