Creating link-type digital assets

Before adding a link to an external resource to a Pimics entity, you must first create it in the system as a standalone link. Using the Links Worksheet, you can add all the links you want to create, review their details, and then create them in the system. After that, you can assign these links to any number of items or categories at any time.

  1. Open Digital Assets > Links Worksheet.
  2. Click New to enable edit mode.
  3. Paste your URL in Source Document.
  4. In the Document Type field, select the type of linked document.
  5. The Type field, which defines the link type, is set based on Document Type.
  6. Changing Document Type generates a new Document ID that is used for the new record.
  7. In the Description field, enter a short description of your link if needed.
  8. When all lines are prepared, select Home > Create Links.
  9. The links are created, and Document Created changes from Not created to Created.
  10. You can now access the links in digital asset pages based on type, like any other digital asset.

The links created in Pimics can be assigned to any entities such as items, item groups, etc.

  1. Select the lines (links) to assign.
  2. Click Assign, and then select the entity type.
  3. From the list of entities, select the records that will receive the links.
  4. Confirm.
  5. The links are now attached to entities.
