Manage Digital Assets

To assign files directly to a single item or category, open the PIM item card and drag files to the Picture Document Gallery. For detailed steps, see Upload pictures to an item or category.

To upload multiple files to Pimics before assigning them, use Upload multiple files to Pimics in the Upload Document Worksheet, where you do not need to select the asset type during this process.

To upload a single document directly in Pimics before assigning it, follow the following process. The process is the same for other media types.

Create a document from the Documents page

  1. Navigate to Digital Assets > Documents.
  2. Select New > Create Document.
  3. In the Create Document window, select Source File to upload the document.
  4. Document Type, Document Class, and Description will be filled in automatically.
  5. Optional: On the Detail FastTab, set values such as Document Group and Checklist Number.
  6. Select OK.
  7. In the confirmation dialog, select Yes.

Manage Document Card

  1. Open Digital Assets > Documents.
  2. Open the relevant Document Card you want to manage.
  3. On the General FastTab, review and update fields as necessary.
    • In Description 2 you can add detailed description.
    • In Document Group you can select a group from the list to which the document belongs, or create a new one.
    • In Document Usage select the character of the document from the list, or create a new one.
  4. On the Translations FastTab, set the translations for the Description/Description 2.
    • Select a line to choose Language Code.
    • Choose Pre-Translate to generate a draft translation.
    • Select Translation Type to define the status of the translation.
  5. Use card actions on the top if needed:
    • Open to view the source file.
    • Certify to run checklist validation.
    • Assign Channels to allocate publication channels.
    • Assign to assign the file to items, item groups, product groups, chapters or catalog groups.
