Integration with the new sales pricing experience
Business Central offers a new way of managing vendor and customer prices via individual sales or purchase price lists. Publications in Pimics are integrated with this new experience, and you are able to search through all or individual price lists and get prices for items in selected publications. No matter how many price lists you have created or how many outdated prices exist across the system, Pimics supports this integration in a way that you will always get current prices based on defined criteria.
Currently, we support integration only with sales price lists.
To learn how new sales pricing experience works, please refer to official Microsoft documentation.
Pre-requisites
Before using this feature, new sales pricing experience must be enabled in your current working environment.
- Click the Search icon and enter Feature Management
- Line with Feature Update: New sales pricing experience must have status Completed Data Update.
Activation of new sales pricing experience is usually carried out by Business Central partner or local system administrator. Therefore, you might not have access to Feature Management. However, if you do have access, do NOT attempt to activate this feature on your own - it will have permanent effect on the whole system!
Process
- Go to the Publication Management and open the selected publication card.
- Open the FastTab Prices & Period.
- Go to the field Price List
- Select the price list from which the sales prices for items in the publication will be calculated.
- The lookup shows by default only sales price lists with status Active. Therefore, you can be sure that you are always working with active prices, excluding drafts or inactive price lists.
You can find more information about the effects of price list status in related Microsoft documentation.
- If you do not select any price list, calculation of prices will be done across all active sales price lists in the system.
- Other fields represent different criteria that can be used for filtering:
- Starting Date - corresponds to Starting Date in the selected sales price list
- Ending Date - corresponds to Ending Date in the selected sales price list
- Sales Type - corresponds to Assign-to Type in the selected sales price list
- Sales Code - corresponds to Assign-to No. in the selected sales price list
- Currency Code - corresponds to Currency Code in the selected sales price list
- VAT Bus. Posting Group - corresponds to VAT Bus. Posting Group (Price) in the selected sales price list
- Daily Prices - enable this setting if you want to take into account value of Unit Price on item card. If no active sales price has been found for particular item in publication, a value of Unit Price will be assigned to this item.
- Filtering criteria that you define will always apply on selected price list. If you do not select any price list, filters will be applied on all active sales price lists in the system.
- After you have defined the criteria, you have to reorganize the publication.
- When the reorganization is finished, open and expand the publication structure to see individual items. You can check their prices in the FactBox on the right side.
